The Westerly Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is excited to welcome players ages 6 and up for another fun-filled season of recreational soccer. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a positive experience for players of all ability levels.

Season Schedule
- Practices begin in late August
- Games begin September 12, 2026
- 8 total games
- 7 game weeks, including one double-header week
- No games on October 10, 2026 (Holiday Weekend)
- Saturday game times are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM
Age Divisions
WYSA Recreational Soccer is open to players ages 3 through 16
WYSA Pups Ages 3-5
One weekday training session led by a volunteer coach *Volunteers needed!
Saturday Games
A fun introduction to soccer!
U6 Division
- Focus on fun, fundamentals, and learning the game
- Small-sided games to maximize participation
- Emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship
U9 Division
- Continued skill development
- Introduction to positional play
- Increased game experience in a supportive environment
U12 Division
- Advanced skill building and game understanding
- Greater emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and player development
U16 Division*
- Competitive recreational environment
- Focus on technical skills, game awareness, and sportsmanship
- Preparation for higher levels of play while keeping the game fun and enjoyable
- WYSA plans to offer a U16 division for Fall 2026; however, participation will be contingent upon receiving enough player registrations to form teams and provide a quality playing experience. Families will be notified promptly if enrollment numbers do not support the division.

WYSA is a volunteer-run organization, and our recreational program cannot happen without dedicated coaches.
No soccer experience is required. We provide resources, guidance, and support throughout the season. If you enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in our community, we would love to have you join our coaching team.

Financial Assistance
WYSA believes every child should have the opportunity to play soccer. Limited financial assistance may be available for families who qualify.

Volunteer Coaches
You don't need soccer experience to make a difference.
All you need is a willingness to step onto the field, encourage young players, and share your love of the game.
Whether you've coached for years or have never kicked a soccer ball, we need you. If you have the heart to encourage kids, the willingness to learn, and a desire to make a difference, you already have what it takes to be a WYSA coach.
Our players don't need perfect coaches—they need positive role models.
